About Me

Coming home to yourself

How did a sociology graduate, former social worker and massage therapist end up working under the trees?

In 2020, during the covid lockdowns, I felt completely emptied out. My marriage was breaking down, my boys were struggling with being cooped up, and I was unable to work. Two things saved me during that time: daily walks along the local river, and online support circles.

These things, even in the most constrained and stressed of times, gave me the mental and emotional space I needed to keep our family show on the road, and to recognise my own needs in the midst of it.

And so, in the 5+ years that followed, I became a certified Circle Holder, and a Forest Bathing guide, trained and registered with TFB Institute. Because I know that taking time to slow down, in nature and in gatherings where you’re free to be your unmasked and unburdened self is essential. It’s not just about the time out - it’s the ripple effect into everyday life.

I now offer sessions in and around York each month, and an annual residential retreat in the Yorkshire Dales.

3 beliefs that guide my work:

  1. Slowing down is essential for maintaining health, and an act of resistance in an over-noisy, over-busy capitalist world
  2. Gathering without any pressure can cultivate a life-changing sense of self
  3. Nature is always there for us, is part of us, and we are part of it
